Randox are one of the largest manufacturers of Quality Control sera in the world.  The Acusera portfolio covers more than 170 parameters from 12 different control groups and guarantees outstanding performance. Principal control groups include antioxidants, blood gas, clinical chemistry, cardiac, coagulation, diabetes, immunoassay, immunology/proteins, lipids, therapeutic drugs, toxicology, urine and speciality controls. In addition to this Randox also manufacture customised quality control sera tailor made to meet the needs of each individual lab.

Unreliable performance can result in the misdiagnosis of patients and cause delays in treatment,  The use of internal quality controls is therefore important in detecting errors within the lab, providing patients with the most reliable results and the best possible care.

• Accuracy - Randox assayed quality controls are the most accurate available with each parameter being assigned instrument and method specific targets generated from up to 7000 independent labs and approximately 98,000 results.  A unique feature of Randox assayed serum is the use of reference method values for up to 12 parameters when generating the target value. 

• Consolidation – Consolidate time and costs by replacing numerous instrument specific controls with a single multi-analyser control resulting in fewer controls to purchase and keep in stock.  Randox will significantly consolidate your existing controls.  An average laboratory may rationalise from 7 different control products to a single control product. 

• True Third Party Controls - Randox controls are not designed or optimised for use with a specific reagent manufacturer or analyser thus reducing the potential of bias and providing a true assessment of performance.

• Flexibility - Different sizes and formats (lyophilised/liquid, human/bovine) are available meaning the customer can choose a product depending on their requirements. Different sizes can mean less waste for the lab whereas lyophilised controls offer enhanced stability and liquid controls offer convenience and ease of use.

• Large batches – Customers can reserve the same lot of control for up to 4 years resulting in less batch to batch variation.

• Colour Coded - All controls come with colour coded bottles and caps to help distinguish between the different analyte levels and minimise the risk of costly errors.

A significant proportion of resources are invested in research and development each year to ensure all Randox products are manufactured to the highest specifications and conform to international standards.  Rigorous quality procedures are used to achieve the high standards expected in clinical science.  Commitment to quality is emphasised by ISO 13485 accreditation for the development and manufacture of diagnostic test kits. 

Also available is Acusera 24-7 an internal quality control and peer group reporting software package designed to complement and support the Acusera range of quality control sera.  The 24-7 software enables laboratories to monitor analytical performance while the peer group reporting function allows laboratories to access peer group reports and compare results with other laboratories using the same quality controls and often the same method and instrument. 24-7 is the only peer group scheme to supply daily updates so you can access the most up to date reports 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
