BIOCHIP ARRAY TECHNOLOGY

What is Biochip Array Technology?
Biochip Array Technology (BAT) allows forensic toxicologists to carry out complete immunoassay screening, on the most commonly abused drugs by using arrays DoA I and DoA II. The technology enables the testing of multiple forensic matrices with dedicated kits offering excellent specificity and the reduced risk of false negative or positive results. Biochip Array Technologies provides an efficient, effective and accurate method of screening for drugs of abuse; enabling forensic toxicology laboratories to not only reduce costs but to improve all round performance.

Benefits of BAT

  • Consolidation of forensic toxicology testing, one analyser for urine, whole blood and oral fluid
  • Kits are optimised and validated for each matrix type
  • Reduced sample preparation
  • Increased specificity reduces the number of false positives
  • Two test sites for benzodiazepines on DoA I allow discrimination of Oxazepam and Lorazepam, with cross reactivities for other benzodiazepines
  • Different test sites for oxycodone and other opioids on DoA II to increase potential information from the screening tests
  • Built in adulteration check ensuring a reduced number of false negatives are reported
  • Excellent correlation with confirmatory methods
  • Full range of BAT Analysers; evidence, evidence investigator and evidence multistat.

BAT Matrices
Our DoA BAT Arrays can be used on many matrices including:

  • Whole Blood
  • Postmortem Blood
  • Postmortem Tissue
  • Urine
  • Oral fluid
